Talk Title: Moving towards sustainable wastewater treatment

Synopsis

Energy cost inflation and the need to meet carbon emission standards is focusing  the water industries efforts on both minimising energy consumption and increasing the energy generation potential of wastewater treatment plants. Innovative technologies for both these  opportunities  are currently available, moving  away from traditional practices to  a  bio-refinery treatment  concept.   The challenge of assessing the sustainability of these technologies  has  lead to the development of OCEAN a modular platform for calculating  plant wide energy  use and GHG emissions.
