John Tinsley, Director Compandben, writes:
Recently we have had a requirement for a means of employing expatriates in New Caledonia. We assumed it would be difficult but we received this response...
“I do confirm that it is doable. Our partner firm has the structure to provide the work permits and employment contract. The process is simple. We need:
• Passeport
• CV
• RIB (Releve d'Identite Bancaire) - usually found on a bank statement, Swift code, bank account number
• Proof of employment - a job offer
• Diplomas "It takes two months to get the authorisation of work and then they need to apply for an entry visa at the French embassy of their own country. The delay depends on each country. When they come into New Caledonia, they have to go for a medical visit and then they get their authorisation to work validated for one month to three years.” Our client has started the process for sending Chinese, Filipino and Indian candidates to Noumea.
