Conscious Communications gives time to charity

The team at Cambridge-based public relations and marketing agency, Conscious Communications, completed over 100 hours of charity work in 2015, generously giving their time to a range of worthy causes from education to care work.

Helping others is at the core of the company’s values and the individuals that work there. Each member of the team is given two paid days each year to spend with a charity of their choice - although in 2015 the team clocked up a lot more hours of their free time helping too.

The objective of the team’s volunteer days is to offer their public relations and marketing skills and expertise to charities that might not have the resources in-house, as well as raising money for worthy causes in their own time.

Charities that benefited from the team’s work included Dementia UK, RSPB, Age UK, St Nicholas Hospice Care and the PCA Benevolent Fund. Activities the team members were involved with ranged from advising on social media techniques, writing press releases and organising fundraising events, to creating foam beards for a viral Christmas campaign, and a 65 mile bike ride.

Alison Taylor, Managing Director at Conscious Communications (pictured), said: “It is so important that companies give back to the community and further afield. We have had a great time this year, having the opportunity to work with such a huge range of truly worthy causes. We are looking forward to accumulating even more hours in 2016.”
