Council seeks your views on the Real Living Wage

One hundred percent of business owners and managers contacted say it’s important that companies pay their employees the Real Living Wage, as a way of combatting poverty in the aftermath of the pandemic.  The majority say that paying the Real Living Wage is a corporate social responsibility, while others think it’s important for recruitment and retention and can help to generate positive PR.

Yet, many companies have not committed to paying the Real Living Wage.  Is this because they already pay their employees more than the Real Living Wage, or is it because they view the long-term commitment as restrictive? What are your views?
