You have until 5pm on Monday 3 January to get your entries in.
An awards ceremony will be held either virtually or in person, depending on the latest Covid guidance, on a date between 7-13 February which is National Apprenticeship Week.
Cllr Bryony Goodliffe, chair of the Children and Young People Committee at Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “Apprenticeships are an excellent way to develop people’s skills and help them on their career pathway.
“We’re fortunate to have so many talented people both carrying out apprenticeships and supporting those people on their journey, and I can’t wait to see the nominations we receive.”
Cllr Lynne Ayres, cabinet member for children’s services, education, skills and the university at Peterborough City Council, said: “I’m delighted the hard work and dedication of apprentices and people supporting them will be formally recognised.
“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to encourage people into a skilled profession, and I would encourage those seeking a direct route into an industry to really consider this pathway.”
All nominations for the apprenticeship categories must be for current apprentices or those who have completed their apprenticeship in the 12 months from 1 January 2021 and who either live or work in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
Nominations can be made for the following:
Working with People Award
This recognises individuals whose role requires them to support our citizens and throughout their apprenticeships have demonstrated putting people at the heart of everything they do.
Behind the Scenes Award
This recognises the achievements of apprentices who have provided vital support within their organisation, going above and beyond expectations. This is likely to include apprentices working in areas including: business support roles, finance, HR, procurement, estates/property and IT and digital.
Team Working Award
This recognises an individual who has built and maintained excellent working relationships and has had a positive impact on team performance by providing encouragement and support.
Personal Achievement
This recognises individuals who have made significant progress and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their apprenticeship. Nominations are also encouraged for individuals who have overcome their own personal challenges on their apprenticeship journey.
Selected from the above categories will be an overall Apprentice of the Year. The judges are looking for an exceptional apprentice who can demonstrate their achievements and the impact they have made within their organisation.
Nominations can also be made for those who have provided support and encouragement to apprentices and have positively impacted the apprenticeship brand.
Apprentice Manager/Mentor Award
This category will be open to people supporting a current apprentice or one that has completed in the last 12 months.
Apprentice Ambassador/Champion Award
Nominations will need to include evidence from the last 12 months of their positive contribution to apprenticeships.
