Countdown to entry for Young People of the Year Awards

With just a few weeks left before entries for Cambridgeshire’s Young People of the Year 2013 (YOPEY) closes, KISS Communications is urging final nominations to be submitted.

The initiative aims to reveal, recognise and reward Cambridgeshire’s young heroes, and aims to give young people a fairer image in the media and society.

Cambridge-based KISS Communications joins fellow co-sponsors: TTP Group, ARM, Ferrier Pearce, ALS Food & Pharmaceutical, Kier, LINX, Hutchinsons, G’s, Peterborough City Council, St Neots Town Council, Lifeplus, The Micron Group, Stratagem and CSR.

The annual event is to highlight young people aged from 10 to 25 who are actively doing positive things in the region, recognising them publicly, and rewarding the very best. The awards ceremony is being held on Wednesday 23 October at the Priory Centre in St Neots.

Entries are invited from all backgrounds and from a diverse range of organisations, including schools, sports clubs, youth organizations, charities and churches. Some people enter themselves or are nominated by their families and friends.

Simon Fryer, CEO of KISS said: “This is the first year we have sponsored YOPEY and we were delighted to do so, not only as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility but also because we like to take an active role in supporting the region’s youngsters. Whether it is going into schools to give career advice, taking on work experience candidates from local colleges or offering paid internship programmes, we take a lot of pleasure in helping and supporting the next generation.”

As one of the region’s top marketing agencies and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), KISS supports a number of community-based initiatives, including Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, the Herts Chamber of Commerce, Inspiring Herts Awards 2013, Social Enterprise East of England (SEEE), and The Muscle Help Foundation.

KISS works with a wide range of blue chip clients from the region, including Anglian Water, Bokomo Foods UK, PlastiKote, Booking.com, Johnson Matthey, Bosch, SISK and Maersk, and successful SMEs including One Nucleus, Balancing Blooms, Horizon Discovery, IMRG, Real-Status, Intergence, and Cambridge Past, Present & Future.
