Courses develop skills in project management and presenting

Courses from Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration later this month tackle project management skills for people who don't normally manage projects, and presentation skills for those who need to master or brush up on the essentials of presenting.

Project Management for Non Project Managers on Wednesday 25 November (a host venue is sought) is a one-day programme designed to develop good Project Management Practice. It is intended for people who don’t normally manage projects.

There are two phases to any project: Thinking It Through and Making Things Happen. This programme is designed to look at the 'thinking it through' phase with the tools and techniques available to project managers and the 'making things happen' through leading others.

The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skill and understanding of how to manage their projects more successfully.

Presentation Skills:Intermediate on Thursday and Friday 26 & 27 November (a host venue is sought) is a two-day workshop for individuals who want to master and/or brush up on the essentials of presenting. The workshop gives a blend of scientific theory and practical exercises to build skills and confidence within a supportive environment.

This workshop takes full account of where you are in terms of presentation experience and current commitments, and focuses on the requirements of each new group. This person-centred method of working gives everyone the opportunity to address their own needs. We help you incorporate real-world proven and researched methods into your own style to develop effective presentations.

Delegates usually spend Day 1 on issues connected with the person, such as confidence building and non-verbal communication to help convey authority. Day 2 concentrates on criteria for capturing attention through verbal communication and content, structuring a talk for maximum impact and retention, and techniques for engagement and memorability

Everyone will have the opportunity to be filmed, and to see and hear themselves present, which is a great tool for self-awareness and development: learning about your own style, what works well and what you need to improve.
