Courses focus on Project Management

The spotlight is on Project Management next month, with two courses on offer from Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration.

The one-day workshop, Project Management for Non Project Managers, which takes place on Thursday April 23rd at Sentec Ltd (5 The Westbrook Centre, Milton Road, Cambridge CB4 1YG), is intended for people who don’t normally manage projects.

It aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skill and understanding of how to manage their projects more successfully, with instruction, models, practical exercises and discussion opportunities on topics such as:

  • Understanding the nature of project work
  • The project management process and the role of Project Manager
  • The planning tools and how to manage risk
  • Managing others who don’t report to you.

Project Management and Leadership on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 April at PA Consulting (Cambridge Technology Centre Melbourn HERTS SG8 6DP) is a two-day workshop aimed at managers who lead teams and projects and who already have some basic knowledge and understanding of the workings of projects.

The content assumes that you have some experience of project working and that you are responsible for running at least one project. The focus is on the leadership aspects of project working, while still covering tools and techniques.

The workshop will:

  • introduce you to the skills, tools and challenges of leading a successful project
  • provide you with an opportunity to practise leadership skills and tools
  • enable you to identify personal learning and prepare a personal development plan
