The software will be used by the airline as part of its goal to reduce its carbon emissions by 50% by 2050 from a 2005 baseline. Tracking the fuel burn and carbon footprint per passenger kilometre for every aircraft within its fleet will allow British Airways to compare and contrast the sustainability performance of different aircraft and identify areas for improvement, in line with its One Destination sustainability plan.
The credit360 system will be deployed to help British Airways collect and manage a wide range of social and environmental indicators across more than 200 sites. Managing annual carbon emissions generated by fuel burn will be the primary focus, while sustainability data relating to the airline’s physical locations, suppliers and business travel will also be closely monitored. credit360 will automate and centralise British Airways’ data collection processes. The data collated will be used for both regulatory compliance reporting and British Airways’ annual GRI and CDP data disclosures.

The first of British Airways’ new fleet of fuel efficient Airbus A380s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners arrived in the UK last year, with passenger flights commencing in September 2013. British Airways is the first airline in Europe to fly both new planes.
