Presentation  by Sean Cochrane from Cyan Technology

This presentation in the Smart Grids stream at SGCP2012, a 4th annual conference on the topic by CIR Strategy, reports on a smart grid pilot deployment in India, that uses AMI technology from the Cambridge (UK) company, Cyan. With peak demand regularly exceeding supply and aggregate technical and commercial losses in excess 30%, the Indian utilities are urgently seeking AMI systems that deliver real benefits. CyLec®, from Cyan, delivers bi-directional wireless communication with the meter, and head end server integration with meter data management systems. CyLec can be used to collate instantaneous readings, billing data, tamper alerts, and load surveys. Batched and scheduled connect/disconnect messages may also be sent to meters, along with tariff updates.
