Dermatologist’s sterling work recognised

A skin expert at Cambridge University Hospitals has been named clinician of the year by the British Association of Dermatologists.

Dr Jane Sterling received the award at the association’s annual meeting in Edinburgh earlier this month.

The award recognises Dr Sterling’s work in patient care, support of colleagues and training of all grades of staff including teaching medical students.

Jane, who trained at the Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, has worked at the Trust for 35 years and been a consultant since 1993. Jane’s special interests are disorders of the female genital skin and infections of the skin, but she practices across all areas of Dermatology.

Jane said: “I’m very honoured to receive this award from the British Association of Dermatologists.

“I feel very proud to have been recognised for my contribution to patient care and training colleagues.”

This was the second year the award was presented after its launch by Professor Nick Levell, former British Association of Dermatologists. The winner is selected by secret ballot by the trustees of the association.
