Dr Richard Stallman discusses 'Freedom issues for web sites'

'Freedom issues for web sites' is the subject of a special community-based lecture next Thursday (June 26th) by Dr Richard Stallman, President of the Free Software Foundation, arranged by Anglia Ruskin University as part of the OWASP AppSec Europe 2014 Conference.

Web sites continually raise several issues of concern that affect individual users' freedom. As part of their design, such web sites often make users run non free software (perhaps in Javascript) whilst others collect data about people or help both commercial and clandestine entities to do so. Some websites may help do the user's own computing and thus deny users control over it.

Next Thursday (June 26th) Dr Richard Stallman will speak about these problems and how to avoid them. This lecture takes place in LAB026 at Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, Cambridge, from  14:40 – 15:40.

This single event is open to both paying delegates  at OWASP (see below) and free to the wider Cambridge Academic Community (undergraduate/postgraduate students, staff and alumni). For further details and to reserve a place, please contact Adrian.Winckles@anglia.ac.uk
