A party of 10 will be led up Scotland’s highest peak, Ben Nevis, England’s, Scaffel Pike, and Wales’, Snowdon, in just 24 hours. The whole excursion, including travel from and back to Norwich, will last three days from Thursday 30 May to Saturday 1 June.
The event is sponsored by Johnston Logistics UK, with registration £100 and a suggested sponsorship target of £400. All money raised will go towards the nook, the new children’s hospice for Norfolk EACH hopes to open later this year. That is fundraising-permitting, with £1.6 million of the £10 million public appeal left to raise.
Emma Benstead, EACH Norfolk Events Fundraiser, said: “Those who take part will walk 22 miles over 13-plus hours, so this is a true endurance trek that will test you both physically and mentally. Participants should have the necessary fitness and be prepared to do without sleep! We will arrange training walks, but they won’t be obligatory.
“Of course, the reward is some stunning views and the unmatched feeling of knowing that you’ve helped shape the future of children’s palliative care for an entire county.”
The application process for the nook Three Peaks Challenge closes on Monday (21 January). Participants will be selected by Thursday 31 January.
Those unsuccessful or just looking for a different fundraising challenge in 2019 are encouraged to consider taking part in one of EACH’s skydives on 4 May or 15 September at Beccles Airfield, or one of EACH’s cycling events, a Salzburg to Vienna ride in August or an Italian Lakes ride in September.
