Golzio, a Director at the European Patent Office, will explain what a patent is, what rights are conferred, where and when to file for a patent, and who should do so. He will present examples of how patents are examined and discuss infringement and freedom to operate.
The event, which is open to the public and free to attend, has been organised by Anglia Ruskin’s Lord Ashcroft International Business School.
Dr Sandra Selmanovic, Deputy Head of Economics and International Business at Anglia Ruskin, said: “Protection of intellectual work is becoming increasingly important.
“Various intellectual property rights are available which, alone or in combination, help to maximise the return of investment.
“This talk will cover why, when and how you apply for a patent, and it should be invaluable to anyone running a business involving some degree of intellectual property.”
Golzio currently leads the Search & Knowledge Directorate at the European Patent Office, and is a member of several technical and professional associations. He has written 25 technical papers in various fields and holds three patents.
The event, on Anglia Ruskin’s East Road campus, runs from 2-4pm on 20 November. To reserve a free place, please visit https://angliaruskinepoevent.eventbrite.co.uk
