February courses focus on training and presentation skills

Learning Collaboration courses early next month will help you learn how to deliver training, and how to make effective presentations.

Train the Trainer on February 2nd (venue required) is a one-day workshop for anyone who has to train others in any subject. This workshop will give you the tools and techniques you need to be effective.

The course will enable you to:

  • Explore a range training styles
  • Understand learning and how to build a programme around it
  • Identify your own training style and produce a plan to develop your skills
  • Consider a range of training methodologies, and know how to develop them and use them effectively
  • Present a training session (and receive feedback)
  • Develop an action plan for use when developing and running the training programmes.

Intermediate Presentation Skills on February 3rd and 4th at the Citrix Building (101 Cambridge Science Park, Milton Road Cambridge CB4 0FY)  is a two-day course designed for individuals who want to master and/or brush up on the essentials of presenting. The workshop gives a blend of scientific theory and practical exercises to build skills and confidence within a supportive environment.

This workshop takes full account of where you are in terms of presentation experience and current commitments, and focuses on the requirements of each new group. This person-centred method of working gives everyone the opportunity to address their own needs.

Everyone will have the opportunity to be filmed, and to see and hear themselves present, which is a great tool for self-awareness and development: learning about you own style, what works well and what you need to improve.
