Children in the UK on average consume more sugar per day than the recommended amount.

Fruit juice is classified as a source of ’free sugars’.

In the UK 1 glass (150 ml) of unsweetened 100% fruit juice is equivalent to one portion of fruit and can only provide a maximum of 1 portion of the 5-a-day target.

As an experiment, I went to my local supermarket and tried to buy a 150ml bottle or carton of fruit juice and could not find one. The smallest fruit juice I got was 300 ml.
