Simon Anderson talks sustainability at the House of Lords
Held at the House of Lords and hosted by UK environmental think tank Sustainability First, Simon was invited to represent Green Energy Options alongside four other high profile speakers.
Each speaker came prepared with a three minute presentation outlining how they thought we should get smarter to address sustainability issues. Following the speeches, a vote was held to decide which idea was best – both in terms of being implementable and exciting.
Three practical ways of getting smarter to tackle sustainability challenges
Entitled Crossing the Chasm, Simon’s speech explored three practical ways of how to bridge the gap between technology that works and large-scale market acceptance.
These included practical ideas such as:
- Clean tech industry regluation instead of subsidisation
- Requirement for government and regulated industries to compete on green solutions
- Market entry funding - for SMEs in particular
It was too good a presentation not to share – which is why it's been transcribed. You can read Simon's full speech on how to outsmart sustainability challenges here.
And, to save keeping you in suspense any longer, yes, Simon’s proposal did get voted overall favourite!
Green Energy Options would love to hear whether his ideas on the future of sustainability won you over too – please leave your thoughts in the comments box over on the latest news section of the website.
