Ideas by Eden secures new client

Cambridge design and marketing agency, Ideas by Eden, has been appointed by the Cyber Security Research Institute (CSRI) to lend a hand in its bid to protect hard drives, networks and identities around the world.

CSRI aims to increase awareness among industry, policy-makers and the public about vital areas of information security by carrying out and disseminating rigorous, cutting edge research, often with international academic partners.

The Institute recently revealed that a hard drive, once belonging to News International and containing the contact details for the entire staff of the Sun including former editor, Rebekah Wade and columnist Jeremy Clarkson, had been sold on without being wiped.

Ideas by Eden has been brought on board to redevelop CSRI’s website as the primary platform for CSRI’s engagement with the wider world, allowing users to securely purchase the latest research report, browse industry news and interact with computer security experts.

CSRI’s research - on everything from identity theft to the Stuxnet worm thought to have targeted Iran’s nuclear programme - has gained coverage in media outlets around the world.

Ideas by Eden recently helped CSRI stage a webinar based on its report on the protection of personal data. The event was jointly hosted by the Independent newspaper and Royal Holloway, University, while the report itself is now to form the basis of a BBC Science film.

Chairman and founder of CSRI, Peter Warren (pictured) said: “We are completely dependent on computer technology. We believe it is very important to both investigate its vulnerabilities and the effect they might have if exploited. We are excited to be working with Ideas by Eden to help bring that message to as wide an audience as possible.”

Ideas by Eden Director, Christian Scott said: “We have had a great start to the year and in particular have managed quite a few wins in the knowledge based sectors.  CSRI have an ambitious agenda and we are delighted to be helping to build the platform to deliver it.”
