During 2019, the Penningtons Manches Cooper Charitable Foundation funded a part-time play worker for the charity that runs drop-in sessions for children up to three and their families, as well as providing grocery vouchers and raising money from bake sales that have gone towards the costs of a family disco and extra groceries for healthy lunches over the school holidays. The firm also offers families ad-hoc legal guidance. Work will soon will begin on a garden that Penningtons Manches Cooper are supporting in conjunction with a landscape gardener and supporting a fundraising comedy event at The Guildhall in February as part of the charity being one of the Mayor's Charities of the Year.
Says KHFSP Manager Josephine Hunt: “The backing and support of PMC during the year was invaluable, both in terms of funding but also in offering legal advice to families in tricky situations. The comedy night in February will be the first event of this sort and scale we've done so having the backing and support of PMC for that is also invaluable.”
Says Penningtons Manches Cooper Partner Sarah Coates: “The work of KHFSP is so important within their local community and we have really enjoyed doing our bit to help them continue this amazing work. Corporate social responsibility for us isn’t just about donating to charity, it’s about working closely with chosen charities, such as with organising fundraising activities and supporting families with legal advice when they need it. We look forward to continuing this relationship into 2020.”
