Stone King, which also has offices in London and Bath, is ranked as a top tier firm in several categories in the 2014 Legal 500 guide to the UK’s leading lawyers and law firms.
The prestigious guide places both the Cambridge-based charity team and the firm’s education team in the highest tier for their work in the region.
Within Charities and not-for-profit, Stone King is a first tier firm, says the guide. “The ‘excellent' Stone King LLP has ‘a very good understanding of the charity sector',” it adds. “Robert Meakin, praised for his grasp of Canon law, provides ‘helpful, constructive and understandable advice'.
Stone King’s education team in Cambridge also receives a glowing recommendation. The guide adds: “Stone King LLP’s ‘timely and thorough' national practice is led by the ‘invaluable' Roger Inman.”
Caroline Banwell, a solicitor in Stone King’s Cambridge based employment and HR team, is recommended for the first time in the directory.
Robert Meakin, who heads up the Cambridge office, said: “We are delighted to be recognised in the top tier within the region and this reflects our national reputation in both of these areas.” He went on to say “These rankings also demonstrate that our decision to develop the range of services we offer from this office, including specialist legal advice on commercial, property, IP/IT, employment & HR issues has been worthwhile.
