The lightweight and compact PCE-174 light meter from PCE Instruments is ideal for mobile measurements of illuminance. Due to the high measurement range of up to 400,000 lux, it can also be used for outdoor measurements in sunlight and testing at workplaces with high light requirements. The spectral sensitivity of the light meter is adapted to the brightness sensitivity of the human eye in daylight.
The measured values can be shown on the display either in the SI unit lux or in the unit footcandle which is common in the Anglo-American language area. The display is updated 1.5 times per second.
The external light sensor, which is connected to the handheld unit via a 95 cm cable, can be easily positioned at the measuring location even in confined spaces. When not measuring and for transport, the sensor can be protected from dust and damage with a protective cap.
The clearly arranged function keys make the PCE-174 easy and quick to operate. By pressing a key, you can, among other things, save measurement data, query the minimum and maximum values of the current measurement, hold the current measurement value or activate the peak value display. A special function is relative measurement where the measured values are referred to a previously measured comparison value.
The practical light meter can also be used as a data logger. A storage interval between 2 and 99 seconds can be selected for the up to 16,000 measured values. This makes it possible to record the light conditions at one location over a period of more than two weeks. The threaded hole on the back of the housing allows the meter to be fixed in such a way that it can be easily read during continuous measurements.
- light meter with external light sensor
- measurement range up to 400.000lux / 40.000 footcandle
- spectral sensitivity according to CIE
- MIN, MAX, PEAK and HOLD function
- relative values referred to a measured value
- data logger and manual saving
- with PC software and data cable
The PCE-174 light meter from PCE Instruments is characterised above all by its wide measurement range, simple operation and practical evaluation options. After installing the software, the current or saved measurement data can be easily transferred to the computer via the data cable and evaluated on the screen.
