The 2016 e-Luminate Cambridge Festival will take place in the city between 12th and 17th February 2016.
To accompany the announcement of the newly formed partnership between e-Luminate and Lumie, Cambridge-based light therapy specialists, the organisers have launched an exciting competition. A lucky reader will win Lumie Bodyclock Starter, a dawn simulator that wakes you gradually with a 30 minute sunrise and is proven to improve mood, energy, productivity and the quality of sleep and awakening.
To enter, please send your best photograph from the e-Luminate Cambridge Festival which took place in February this year. The best pictures will be showcased on social media and on the Festival's website as well as being in the prize draw, so check your camera, phone, or tablet today!
Lumie has been researching and designing bright lights to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and other conditions for nearly 25 years. Lumie pioneered the concept of dawn simulation and the world’s first wake-up light – an alarm that wakes you up with increasing levels of light – was launched over 20 years ago, helping to bring light therapy into the mainstream. Lumie works closely with the scientific community and all of their products – the broadest range in Europe – are based on published research and designed by the company from its base in Cambridge.
The benefits of light therapy reach far beyond SAD. Lumie lights help you to sleep well and get up in the morning, beat the afternoon slump, conquer jetlag and look after your skin. They also optimise sports performance and Lumie is proud to provide lights to some of Great Britain’s elite athletes as well as acting as official suppliers to British Swimming.
Lumie’s CEO Jonathan Cridland says of the competition: “Both Lumie and e-Luminate have a shared goal – making people happy through the innovative use of light. We’re delighted to be supporting the annual e-Luminate Festival as a sponsor for the first time and this competition is a great start to our relationship. Lumie Bodyclock Starter will set you up for a good night’s sleep and wake you refreshed with energy to remain productive throughout the day.”
e-Luminate Cambridge Festival Curator, Alessandra Caggiano, said: "Light crosses so many boundaries, it tells a story, and there is a certain playfulness to it that captures everyone's imagination. Now, with Lumie’s help, light can be healing as well as entertaining and thought-provoking."
To win Lumie Bodyclock Starter just fill in the entry form here by 3rd August.
