The medals were all won in the judo, which has traditionally been one of Anglia Ruskin’s strengths. Mateja Glusac, who is also the defending European universities champion in his weight class, won gold in his individual competition, while Billy Goldsmith, Jade Warr and Ryan Burt all won silver medals. Bronze medals went to Adam Adaman and Isabella Mahoney.
Anglia Ruskin, which was also represented in fencing, swimming and athletics, also took the silver medal in the men’s team judo event.
Martin Beaver, Head of Sport and Active Anglia, said: “It was an excellent event for Anglia Ruskin students, with some great performances from the experienced athletes and some really exciting performances from the new students.
“Those reaching judo finals will now qualify for the European University Championships in Portugal, where Mateja will try and defend his title.”
