Neil Marsh Health & Fitness are inviting you to join them at their epic 24 hour spin-a-thon tomorrow (Friday). Neil Marsh and Jo Moir - who will be taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon this April as part of #TeamARHC – have joined forces for the spin-a-thon to raise funds as part of their marathon effort, with an impressive joint target for Arthur Rank Hospice of between four and six thousand pounds.
The 24 hour spin-a-thon is just one of the fundraising and training initiatives that the duo will tackle as they prepare for the marathon on 23 April. The event will take place from 12pm on Friday 24 February until 12pm on Saturday 25 February at Neil Marsh Health & Fitness, Unit D-F, Highgate Farm, Over Road, Willingham, CB24 5EU.
A few willing volunteer ‘spinners’ have already come forward to help fill spaces on the gym bikes in order that the wheels will continue to spin for the full 24 hours and, as Neil explains, the team are feeling positive: “Last year we were delighted to raise £2,185 for the Hospice, thanks to help of a number of wonderful volunteer ‘spinners’ including gym members Janice and Anna. The bikes are filling up nicely now for this year’s spin-a-thon, but we’d love to welcome anyone who’d like to get involved and help us keep motivated: it will be really fun and it a brilliant exercise-loving way to raise funds for such a great cause! Maybe you can make it part of your workout on Friday: skip the gym and come and join us instead?!”
Amy Bidwell, Challenge Community Fundraiser for Team ARHC challenges said: “Neil and Jo applied for our Virgin Money London Marathon places as a team and were adamant they would reach their tremendous target. Last year’s event was a huge success and the amount they raised made a huge different – for example it could pay for the Hospice Day Therapy service for a day for up to 13 patients, 3 nights of Hospice at Home care and 2 weeks’ worth of newspapers read by patients and their loved ones. We’d love to see them spin past the £2200 mark this Friday, so please help us drum up some local support and urge anyone you know who enjoys spinning to hop on a bike for an hour and keep the wheels turning!.”
