Marks & Clerk LLP wins ‘highly recommended’ status

Intellectual property firm Marks & Clerk in the UK has been awarded a ‘Highly Recommended’ status by one of the world’s foremost intellectual property (IP) publications.

Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) bestowed the accolade on the UK’s largest IP firm in its annual IAM Patent 1000 2014 guide – the firm has received this ranking for the third consecutive year since the publication first launched in 2012.

Eighteen fee earners worldwide have been ranked by the publication.  Marks & Clerk was also named in the ‘Gold’ tier listing in the category for European patent prosecution.

The two partners to achieve a ‘Recommended’ status are Tim Andrews, Cambridge’s Office Managing Partner and Philip Martin, Head of Electronics and Partner for the Cambridge office.

IAM released commentary describing Philip as matching "outstanding technical ability with strategic smarts" and being "regarded as a vital ally by start-ups and large companies alike.”  They describe Tim as "one of the sharpest organic, pharmaceutical, and polymer chemistry minds in the country.”

Additional rankings include, Scotland achieving a ‘Gold’ status – the first time that patent and trade mark attorneys have been featured in the rankings – and the Hong Kong and Singapore offices both maintained their ‘Highly Recommended’ status.
