Meteor Inkjet Ltd’s North American sales and support manager, Ken Hiller, will focus on the requirements of the raster image processor (RIP) for industrial inkjet applications in his talk at the InPrint Industrial Inkjet Conference in Chicago, 1st – 2nd May 2018. The InPrint Industrial Inkjet Conference is the leading networking and educational forum for the industrial print community and provides insight into inkjet technology within the manufacturing sector.
In his talk Ken will explain the basic function of a RIP, why we need RIPs and how they differ for industrial inkjet applications. The presentation will also explain the interaction between Digital Front Ends (DFEs), RIPS and the industrial inkjet imaging systems they are designed to drive.
Ken comments: “Technological advancements in industrial inkjet systems and the constant push for increased speed and higher quality from printer manufacturers are pushing RIP and drive electronics to higher levels. For example, special screening techniques have been developed to improve image quality and remove artifacts such as chaining and mottling, and fast file processing for variable data applications that often include barcodes, QR codes and images are now standard. New technologies bring new challenges and RIPs must therefore adapt to accommodate new requirements as they occur.”
Ken’s talk will take place on Wednesday, 2nd May at 14.00 hrs.
