Between 12pm – 4pm every child who visits a Metro Bank store will be given a free goody bag full of back to school themed crafts1 and may even get the chance to meet the bank’s fun-loving mascot, Metro Man. The family craft event will be taking place in the majority of Metro Bank stores, including the Cambridge branch at Christ's Lane, CB2 3BZ.
Metro Bank champions financial education and wellbeing, delivering its free financial education programme for schools and youth groups in Key Stage 2 and 3. The bank is proud to have educated more than 203,000 kids through Money Zone since launching the programme.
Metro Bank is known for its family-friendly approach to banking and last month celebrated its 10th birthday since opening its first store – as the first high street bank to open in more than 100 years. In the past decade the bank has helped kids make over 600,000 crafts – from Easter bunny ears to Halloween pumpkins – at the bank’s regular family events.
Ian Walters, Managing Director, Distribution at Metro Bank says: “We’re delighted to be welcoming families into our stores for our annual Back to School kids craft event. Social distancing remains in place, and we’ll be taking extra health and safety precautions so kids can enjoy our free crafts in store where it is safe to do so, or to take them away and have fun at home. We’re looking forward to creating some fun for our younger customers, and we wish everyone heading back to school the best of luck.”
Metro Bank serves more than two million customer accounts with 77 stores across the country. Stores are open seven days a week2, early until late, and are renowned for their family and pet-friendly approach.
All Metro Bank stores are operating alongside social distancing guidelines, with a number of health and safety measures in place to keep customers and colleagues safe.
