Mills & Reeve reappointed as sole adviser to University of Bedfordshire

Leading national law firm Mills & Reeve has been reappointed as the University of Bedfordshire's (UoB) sole legal advisers for another five years following a competitive tender.

Nicola Brown, employment partner based in the firm’s Cambridge office, leads the team with input from other lawyers from across the firm. Mills & Reeve will support the University’s in-house legal team with employment, commercial, registry and estate management matters.

The UoB is the largest higher education institution in the county and was established in August 2006, following the merger between the University of Luton and De Montfort University's Bedford campus on which Mills & Reeve acted. The University has over 1,000 staff along with 24,000 students from over 100 countries. It also has 10 research institutes. The University has spent £180 million on the student estate in recent years, with a further £180 million committed for state of the art facilities in the future.

Nicola said: “We are delighted to have been reappointed to advise the University of Bedfordshire, who have been a valued client for many years. We look forward to working with the University to support its strategy over the next five years. We have a proven track record in advising higher education institutions and our reappointment is further testament to that.”

Angela Hogan, the in-house solicitor for the University said: “The University is delighted to reappoint Mills & Reeve and looks forward to working on the many exciting major projects it has planned in the next five years.”
