Mills & Reeve recognised in 'Financial Times' Innovative Lawyers 2013 report

Leading national law firm Mills & Reeve has once again featured in the annual Financial Times Innovative Lawyers report.

Now in its eighth year, the Innovative Lawyers report is one of the top legal rankings in Europe. It covers in-depth the work of individual Europe-based law firms and their contribution to the wider economy, highlighting fresh thinking and innovative practice.

Guy Hinchley, Mills & Reeve managing partner, said: “The Innovative Lawyers report has become something of a benchmark to test yourselves against the best of Europe and we are delighted to once again feature. Innovation is one of our board’s current priorities and this recognition illustrates that we are continuing to think outside the box for the benefit of our clients.”

In the 2013 report Mills & Reeve has been “commended” in the value resourcing category for an online automated agreement tool which focuses on the efficient in-house production of employment settlement agreements.

Nicola Brown, employment partner at Mills & Reeve, commented: “This system enables us to present complicated drafting options in a flexible and simple way. The in-house efficiencies we introduce by automating the drafting of settlement agreements include ensuring accuracy and speed of creation. This is allowing us to further raise our client satisfaction levels.”

“In addition, some of our clients have direct access to the automation. This enables them to complete the simpler transactions themselves and only refer to us for the more complex cases. This helps to provide them with legal certainty whilst driving down their legal costs.  It is also a powerful tool for cementing existing relationships and developing new ones.”

The Financial Times and specialist legal research company RSG Consulting spent five months preparing the report and conducted more than 800 interviews with senior lawyers and executives in order to arrive at the final rankings. Please click here to view the full report.
