The next generation of consoles, the Xbox One and Playstation 4 offer an immersive gaming experience with more convincing and realistic graphics. The ZEISS cinemizer OLED 3D multimedia glasses improve that immersive experience for gamers.
The ZEISS headtracker attachment will see more support from these consoles in the next few years with gaming engines such as the CryEngine already offering an SDK (Software Development Kit) which enables cinemizer headtracker functions.
Product manager Franz Troppenhagen said: “The SDK enables developers to access directly the Headtracker raw data and provide a completely intuitive and precise game control. Players can control 1:1 simple head movements which will alter virtual viewing accordingly.”
Unlike other multimedia glasses, cinemizer OLED sets itself apart by requiring no adjustment for different games. All the latest games, including Bioshock: Infinite, Grand Theft Auto 5 or Assassin's Creed 4, as well as planned next-gen titles such as Watch Dogs are compatible with the ZEISS multimedia glasses via HDMI plug'n'play. This means cinemizer OLED is automatically recognised and is set up ready for use straight away. Gamers can dive into virtual game worlds immersively - either with a clear and sharp edge-to-edge 2D image or sense of space in realistic 3D mode. The optional eyeshield can be attached to the cinemizer OLED which blocks unwanted light from entering the display.
PC gamers can also enjoy the immersive gaming experience the cinemizer OLED offers, as the head tracker is recognised via USB connection as a mouse which means it is ready to use as an input device in almost all games. The Official Certification by graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA allows owners of 3D Vision and 3D TV Play also to experience more than 700 PC titles with the cinemizer OLED in impressive 3D.
