Steven is a qualified European, UK, Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney with over 15 years’ experience providing strategic IP advice in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields, delivering commercially relevant, pragmatic and actionable advice.
Steven has worked in both private practice and in-house, and his strong chemical background means he is able to advise on a range of subject matters including pharmaceuticals, organic and inorganic chemistry, medical devices, industrial and polymer chemistry, veterinary medicine and agrochemicals.
In his previous in-house role within a global pharmaceutical company, Steven managed the IP strategy for over 150 pharmaceutical launches globally, strategically advising the business on launch strategy, freedom to operate (FTO), and contentious matters including opposition and multi-jurisdictional litigation. In 2016, Steven was named a ‘Managing Intellectual Property Corporate IP Star.’
Dr Kirsteen Gordon, Cambridge Office Managing Partner at Marks & Clerk, said: “I am very excited to welcome Steven back to Marks & Clerk. Together with his technical expertise as a chemist and a patent attorney, his experience in-house will make him an excellent asset to our team.”
