New year courses will help you build your people skills

We all do business with people, not companies - so learning how to connect with others confidently, stand your ground, or handle difficult behaviour are valuable skills. Three courses on offer from Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration early in the new year will help you with all these things.

The first is Confident Communication, a one day workshop on Tuesday 12 January (kindly hosted by Taylor Vinters - Merlin Place, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0DP).  Aimed at anyone who needs to communicate/present with confidence, including technical people and introverts, this course is based around interaction and feedback. By the end of the session you will have the confidence to speak in your own character, have the ability to write great content and understand a range of techniques for engaging your audience.  Find out more and sign up here

Assertiveness Skills is another one day workshop on Wednesday 20 January (kindly hosted by Red Gate - Newnham House, Cambridge Business Park, Cambridge, CB4 0WZ)  which will help you to understand what assertiveness really means, and how to be more assertive when you need to be. It is not always about getting your own way, but about being able to confidently express your own needs.   Find out more and sign up here

Finally, Dealing with difficult behaviour - I'm not crazy, I'm just not you! on Tuesday 26 January (a host venue is required) is  a one day session aimed at managers and team leaders at all levels who wish to extend their approach and understanding when dealing with the challenges of difficult people, so the outcomes can be more effective. It's said that ‘variety is the spice of life’ but sometimes the range and diversity of people we come across can be really challenging.  Find out more and sign up here
