Each year the Social Enterprise of the Year award seeks out the initiative that has delivered, or will deliver, the most impressive impact on society in terms of social, environmental and/or economic impact.
The initiative could be operating at a local, national or international level, but must demonstrate significant ability or potential to make a transformational difference.
This initiative could be delivering social impact in terms of:
• the audience it reaches
• a ground-breaking innovation
• demonstrating quality
• building awareness of an issue that affects society
The Cambridge News launched the awards on 1 December at a reception held at The Gonville Hotel. Guests heard from News MD Richard Duxbury, and had the chance to network in the hotel’s recently refurbished bar. The winners will be announced at an opulent awards dinner at King’s College on Thursday, March 23.
Winning one of these awards has proved hugely beneficial for previous nominees, who have gone on to make the most of their title, not least in attracting new talent to join their staff.
Previous winners of the Social Enterprise Award include Simprints in 2016 and Sunflowers Care in 2015.
