The event “Next Generation Healthcare: Genomics for Nurses and Midwives” takes place at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge on Tuesday 10 March.
It will explore how advances in the field of genomics are helping healthcare professionals diagnose patients with rare diseases and personalising cancer care.
The event is being hosted by Lorraine Szeremeta, Chief Nurse at Cambridge University Hospitals, together with the East Midlands and East of England NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub.
Guest speakers will give an overview of the national NHS Genomic Medicine Service, provide information about educational resources for nurses/midwives looking to learn more about genomics, outline national nurse-led genomics initiatives, and provide examples of regional best practice.
This event is targeted at nurses and midwives who are interested in genomics - all are welcome, no prior experience is necessary, and other healthcare professionals can register too. If you do have experience of genetics or genomics in a patient care or research setting, then please register to present a poster and showcase your work.
