This annual event is in celebration of all things innovation – from its relevance to the international engineering community and the opportunities it provides to tackle shared industry challenges collaboratively – through to the important contribution research and development (R&D) makes to the well-being of individuals, society and economies world-wide.
During the Summit (10.00 – 12.30 GMT), delegates will hear from TWIIN Subscribers Kaplam, who produces plastic injection machines and parts for the automotive industry enabled by robotics technologies, and Fraunhofer IKTS who conducts applied research to develop systems for non-destructive testing and condition monitoring of industrial processes for various application areas. Huseyin Gonulkirmaz, R&D Manager, Kaplam and Uwe Lieske, Group Manager, Condition Monitoring Hardware and Software, Fraunhofer IKTS will each discuss examples of their work, together with how they collaborate with TWIIN to enhance their innovation and operational activities.
Regional Manager, Panos Chatzakos will illustrate, with successful project examples, how TWI Hellas is currently collaborating with a large number of European partners on technology-based R&D in various industries, and Emma Freckingham, Head of Company Certification, TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL) will explain how TWI CL can assist UK and European companies with certification to international standards. Dr Cem Selcuk, Head of Business Development for TWIIN will explain the services and assistance available through the Network, including the benefits of joining as a TWIIN Subscriber, to SMEs, European universities and RTOs, and organisations further afield. The morning will conclude with an interactive networking session for delegates and speakers.
From 1pm onwards, TWIIN Subscribers and Gold corporate sponsors of the TWI Innovation Network Summit will be able to take advantage of pre-booked, 1-2-1 Innovation Clinics with members of TWI’s Technology Innovation Management team, during which they can receive tailored support on how to identify and access suitable public funding, and consortium partners, for their R&D projects.
