It is designed to recognise that bright ideas can genuinely be translated into commercial success and is sponsored by the University’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, part of Cambridge Judge Business School.
The competition is open to businesses founded by University of Cambridge alumni that have achieved and maintained commercial success at least three years after leaving the academic environment. Last year's winner, Owlstone, has gone from strength to strength and recently announced plans to exploit the medical diagnostics market with a breathalyser that detects disease. Read more »
The deadline for entering the 2012 competition has been extended to 24th February. Business Weekly has already received applications from some great businesses, including Arcus Global and Breathing Buildings, but is keen to hear from more alumni start-ups. So, if you think you fit the bill and would like to turn the spotlight on your business, please enter the competition.

The award ceremony will take place at Queens College, Cambridge, on 20th March 2012.
