Four-legged friends and their “paw-some” humans are invited to join Lead On – a sponsored walk throughout the month of September.
The challenge involves completing 90km (56 miles) over 30 days from 1 September. Funds raised will provide care for people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or life-limiting condition, and help ensure their loved ones can access much needed support.
Precious pooches (with their human!) can complete their walks at any time, in any location and at their own pace. Each dog will receive a dog bandana, treats kindly donated by Grumpy’s pets shop and the chance to win an Animo Dog Tracker with the compliments of Smart PetCare.
Human supporters of all ages are welcome on the proviso they have (or can borrow) a dog!
Sarah Clayton, Community Fundraiser at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, said: “Lead On is a fantastic new event which will bring dog lovers together to help fund patient care. Completing regular walks throughout September is a great way of boosting wellbeing and fitness as well as exploring new dog-friendly locations.
Via our Community Facebook page, we’ll be supporting the dogs and their walkers and encouraging everyone to share tips, progress and cute pics. Our supporters’ dedication, commitment and generosity are invaluable in sustaining services for people requiring hospice care in our community.”
