Pedal power from Cambridge law firm helps raise £1,500 for Mind

Stone King held a sponsored spinathon on Tuesday (June 4), competing against three of the firm's other offices in Bath, Leeds and London.

The event saw the Cambridge law firm raise £1,500 for its charity of the year, Mind.

The Cambridge team competed against three of the firm's other offices, covering the most distance in their effort to raise money for the mental health charity. They covered 432 miles on bikes provided by PureGym.

“It was a tough challenge but one that was very worthwhile,” said immigration lawyer Julie Moktadir, who is a Partner at the Hills Road firm. "We were determined to raise a good amount for Mind and that helped us get through the pain barrier.”

The spinathon results are all the more impressive as the team had taken part in the Cambridge Legal Walk, in aid of local advice centres, the previous day.

“We are delighted to have raised this money for Mind and exceed the target we had set,” said Managing Partner Steven Greenwood.“Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is very important to Stone King and we are pleased that so many of our people got involved, demonstrating some very competitive streaks for a good cause.

“We are also grateful to the gyms which kindly supported this event and enabled us to raise funds for a charity that is important to so many people.”

Mind was selected by Stone King staff who have pledged to raise money for the charity throughout the year.

The other Stone King teams taking part were Bath, Leeds and London.
