Penningtons Manches Cambridge announces senior appointments

The Cambridge office of Top 50 law firm Penningtons Manches has rounded off another successful financial year by promoting two solicitors to senior positions.

Rachel Bradley (pictured) has become a partner in the IP, IT and Commercial team, bringing the number of partners in the Cambridge office to five. She has over 13 years’ experience and a particular expertise in the life sciences and publishing sectors. She worked as a corporate counsel for AstraZeneca before joining Penningtons Manches in 2015 and was also an associate in a technology and commerce team at another leading law firm.  At Penningtons Manches Rachel advises on a broad range of non-contentious IP matters, for a wide variety of clients, from small biotech and tech companies, to large pharmaceutical companies, NHS trusts, charities and academic institutions. Rachel is a fluent French speaker and regularly advises clients in French on IP and commercial issues. This appointment increases the strength and depth of the firm’s already 20 strong IP, IT and Commercial team, which spans the offices of Reading, London, Oxford and Cambridge.

Emily Reville has been promoted to senior associate in the clinical negligence team. She advises on all types of clinical negligence claims, with a special interest in spinal cases and gynaecological claims. She represents families at medical inquests and recently settled a multimillion pound catastrophic injury claim involving live liver donation and a substantial secondary victim claim for a woman who witnessed the suicide of her husband. She was recently appointed to the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel.

Commenting on the appointments, partner Helen Drayton said: “This is great news for Rachel and Emily, for the team here in Cambridge and also for the position of women within the firm. These promotions come as a direct result of their hard work and dedicated contribution to the firm. Our award-winning development programme, which aims to support and mentor senior associates who display potential to become partners or associate directors, is reflected in this success. Congratulations  to Rachel and Emily.”

During the past year the Cambridge office of Penningtons Manches has seen great progress in terms of continued business growth as well as a stunning new refurbishment that brings a light, airy and contemporary feel to the Clarendon House offices.
