- New hires boost law firm’s real estate and corporate practices
- Office saw remarkable growth in turnover in the last year
- Also achieved recognition in recently published The Legal 500 2017
Associate Jessica Harris and paralegal Becky Lund have joined the real estate team. Jessica trained with Stephenson Harwood and Becky joins after graduating from Nottingham Trent University earlier this year. The department, which has particular expertise in commercial property, development sites and development finance, has flourished since being established in 2015 by partner Sarah Coates.
Sarah commented: “We’ve gone from strength to strength over the last two years. The addition of Jessica and Becky will ensure we meet increasing client demand and helps put us in a stronger position for continued growth and development. They are both very bright, talented professionals and we are delighted to welcome them on board.”
Sarah and the commercial property team, as well as the Cambridge banking and finance team were highly ranked in the latest edition of directory The Legal 500, described as the definitive guide to the legal market, which was published last week.
Trainee solicitor Siobhan Ffrench has also joined the Cambridge office. She is currently working within the highly successful corporate team, having previously completed a vacation scheme within the department.
The corporate team also achieved a high ranking in the 2017 edition of The Legal 500, and partners Helen Drayton and Ross McNaughton were named as ‘leading individuals’ in the field. Helen Drayton was also listed as ‘leading individual’ for banking. The directory recognised the strength of local expertise in the areas of employment and education, for which partner Hilary Aldred was listed as a leading individual. In addition, senior associate Rachel Bradley was recognised for her expertise in biotechnology.
The new appointments and directory success follow an outstanding year of double digit growth at Penningtons Manches, in which the Cambridge business increased its turnover by a remarkable 50%.
