Progress & Trends in Standards at Smart Grids Conference 2012 14 June by global telecoms guru

Dr Keith Dickerson, Chair ITU-T WP3/5 ICT & Climate Change, will give a talk entitled 'Progress and Trends in Standards for Smart Grids' at the flagship Smart Grids Conference on 14 June in Cambridge.

This talk at the 4th Annual Smart Grids & Cleanpower Conference 2012 Cambridge at Murray Edwards College will cover why standards for Smart Grids are needed and how they will reduce CO2 emissions and help save the planet. These are the standards that will make the difference between a 'smart' grid and a normal electricity grid, the extra equipment that is needed, the information that must flow within a smart grid and between the entities in a smart grid and customer devices. It will also cover who is currently driving standards for Smart Grids and the players who are already investing billions to try to dominate the industry.
