The CW event, in association with MEPC and Rhode & Schwarz, will bring together some of the most influential minds in the automotive and wireless industries to explore the future of autonomous vehicles. The speakers will highlight the complex technical, commercial and regulatory challenges involved in mainstreaming autonomous vehicle technology.
Altran’s David Fidalgo will focus on the challenge of storage and post-processing required to develop autonomous features. His talk, ‘How cloud-based systems and machine-driven big data can contribute to the development of autonomous vehicles’, will look at the utilisation of the cloud and the ability to develop algorithms capable of managing data in real time. He will be joined by Paul Copping, Smart City Consultant at Digital Greenwich, Bob Cockshott, PNT Lead at Knowledge Transfer Network and Peter Lee, Partner at Taylor Vinters, with presentations spanning wireless connectivity, Big Data analytics, navigation and location.
The audience will also have a chance to hear Dr Paul Martin, Chief Technology Officer at Plextek Consulting, a founder member organisation of the Automotive Electronic Systems Innovation Network (AESIN), which was set up in 2012 to stimulate change in the automotive supply chain to make the UK more competitive in the global industry. He will present the concepts of vehicle-to-anything communication (V2X) and new levels of security required.
Peter Lee of Taylor Vinters will conclude the afternoon sessions discussing legal challenges at the intersection of law and technology. The event will culminate with an interactive Panel Session chaired by Tom Blackie of RealVNC.
The Automotive and Transport SIG event is championed by Andrew Ashby of Plextek Consulting, Tom Blackie of RealVNC, John Okas of Real Wireless and Nigel Wall of Climate Associates.
