The Awards, viewed as the 'Oscars' of the civil engineering profession, were presented by ICE President Richard Coackley at an awards dinner held at Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds.
They are made to:
- Recognise merit within the practising profession.
- Encourage excellence and pride in the work of civil engineers. Promote the values demonstrated in the best projects.
- Raise general awareness of the valuable contributions that civil engineering providesto society.
- Encourage team working to overcome adversity and drive benefits for people and environment for future generations.
Projects can be entered in one or all of four categories:
- Physical Achievement
- Technical Excellence/Innovation
- Sustainable Construction/Engineering
- Team Achievement
There are three levels of Award:
- Exceptional Merit
- Merit
- Highly Commenced
