The Division of Health Psychology Annual Conference 2012 (September 5 to 7 ) has been given the theme ‘Beyond boxes and arrows: Making a difference to health’. The conference will offer health psychologists, and other professionals with an interest in health psychology, the chance to showcase work that is being conducted to ‘make a difference’ to the promotion and maintenance of health, the prevention of illness and the provision of accessible and available health care. It is anticipated that papers and posters presented at this conference will include theoretical papers and those which demonstrate some real-life impact or the potential for such impact.
2012 sees the Division of Health Psychology Annual Conference move to the Holiday Inn Liverpool City Centre, ideally located a short walk from the Albert Dock.
The conference will give you an opportunity to meet with academics, researchers, practitioners and students of psychology. High-profile national and international keynote speakers will enhance the scientific programme. In addition, there will be a mix of workshops, structured discussions, symposia, individual papers and posters presented, plus social activities and networking opportunities.
The British Psychological Society is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. Formed in 1901, it now has more than 45,000 members and is responsible for the development, promotion and application of pure and applied psychology for the public good. The Division of Health Psychology Annual Conference is seen as an important academic and networking event and is a major showcase in which academics and practitioners can present their research.
