Cambridge law firm Stone King is holding a seminar to help employers deal with the challenging issue of employees who make a complaint about their treatment at work.

A Cambridge law firm is holding a seminar to help employers deal with the challenging issue of employees who make a complaint about their treatment at work.

Stone King says the seminar is aimed at business, charity and education leaders as well as HR professionals, and will guide employers through the necessary steps to handle a grievance effectively.

Its team of HR Consultants will also explore some of the complexities that can develop including overlap with conduct, capability and how to approach a grievance if an employee has already resigned.

The seminar will also outline the benefits of mediation as an alternative route to conflict resolution.

By the end of the session, which will combine both presentations and the application of practical case studies, delegates will leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of what a grievance is and the purpose of conducting grievance hearings
  • Familiarity with the key points from the ACAS Code of Practice
  • An understanding of how effective mediation can resolve conflict and minimise the need for formal procedure
  • Knowledge of how to hold an informal and formal grievance hearing and appeals process

The event takes place on Tuesday, March 19 at Stone King LLP, 3rd Floor Bateman House, 82-88 Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 1LQ.

It runs from 9.30am-12pm and speakers will be Bryan Chapman and Tim Tyndall. To book visit www.stoneking.co.uk/events
