Sir Michael Marshall speaks on High Value Manufacturing successes

Marshall of Cambridge was founded in 1909 and has been a high value manufacturer and exporter for many years. The company’s manufacturing capabilities and skills have gained a worldwide reputation and are backed by a highly capable design organisation, together with a robust ethos of training, which provides employees with skills, in depth and breadth. Sir Michael Marshall will speak at the 10th Anniversary High Value Manufacturing Conference in Cambridge on 14 November.

Brief Synopsis of Talk

Marshall of Cambridge was founded in 1909 and has been a high value manufacturer and exporter for many years.  The Company’s manufacturing capabilities and skills have gained a worldwide reputation and are backed by a highly capable design organisation, together with a robust ethos of training, which provides employees with skills, in depth and breadth.  Sir Michael will outline some of his Company’s significant past and current achievements and its major contribution to the UK Economy through exports.  He will also express his thoughts on the future of high value manufacturing for the region, as well as for the United Kingdom.

Short Biography

Sir Michael Marshall, CBE, DL joined the Marshall family Group of Companies in 1955 and succeeded his father as Chairman and Chief Executive in 1989.  His son, Robert, became CEO on 1st January 2012, and Michael continues as Chairman of the Group which has an annual turnover exceeding £1bn and employs over 4,000. He was High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire 1988-89 and Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire 1992-2006.
