Sleeping rough for Byte Night raises £6,000 for Action for Children

Claudio Russo, senior research engineer at Microsoft Research Cambridge, said: “A huge thanks to everyone who donated. The money we raised is going to a terrific cause – helping children and young people to find a safe place to call home.

“It was a unique and extremely rewarding experience and we would strongly encourage other local companies to join Byte Night in the fight against youth homelessness next year. You’ll be amazed at what a little team work can achieve!”

Cambridge companies including KPMG, Citrix, Barclays, Marshalls, MathWorks and EACS spent the night exposed to the elements for Byte Night Cambridge. Simultaneous events took place in London, Belfast, Manchester, Edinburgh, Reading, Bristol and Birmingham, with over 1,500 people sleeping out across the UK.
