£4,000 on the table for purchases that help companies save energy
The launch of the programme’s Capital Grants Scheme will support firms across the East of England looking to reduce their consumption of resources, such as water, energy or raw materials by offering to pay 40% of the cost of items like equipment, machinery or software.
The total spend on the item must be between £2,500 and £10,000 in value (excluding VAT). All items bought using the grant will remain under ownership of the company making the purchase.
Examples of the kind of purchase that could be made under the scheme include low-energy lighting, energy monitoring devices, 3D printers and more energy-efficient machinery.
Carole Randall, Low Carbon KEEP Programme Manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to provide funding for capital purchases to SMEs in the East of England. We believe that the grants we now offer will aid businesses in these still challenging economic conditions and provide a boost for the competitiveness of the region, by increasing efficiency, reducing energy costs and driving innovation.”
