Solve the puzzles to discover green treasure!

Cambridgeshire kids have the chance to unearth “green treasure” next month, during a special event organised by Anglia Ruskin University’s Global Sustainability Institute.

Aimed at children aged four to 12, the free Extraordinary Environment Treasure Hunt takes place on Saturday, 1 November (2.30-5pm) at Mill Road cemetery in Cambridge.

The treasure hunt will begin with a storyteller reading an adventure story with a special puzzle to solve.

The treasure hunters will crack the clues to unearth secret treasure – including snacks and gadgets (fairtrade and sustainable of course!) – and discover how there is more to their everyday activities than meets the eye.

Julie-Anne Hogbin of Anglia Ruskin’s Global Sustainability Institute said: “This hands-on outdoor treasure hunt will help kids to think about how their everyday activities – from travelling to school, to eating their lunch – relate to the environment and the idea of sustainability.”

The Extraordinary Environment Treasure Hunt is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science which will be taking place across the UK from 1-8 November.

All children need to be accompanied by an adult and pre-booking is recommended.  For further information, contact Julie-Anne Hogbin on 01223 695108, email  julie-anne.hogbin@anglia.ac.uk or visit www.anglia.ac.uk/treasurehunt
