Specialist legal course for the education sector comes to Cambridge

Employers in the education sector need to be wary of hidden risks and pitfalls so they don't find themselves embroiled in costly employment tribunals.

That’s why Cambridge law firm Stone King LLP is holding a seminar designed to raise awareness and bring some clarity to these potential pitfalls.

Called Common HR Pitfalls in Education, it will see Stone King’s HR experts discussing a wide range of topics including: Fixed Term Contracts (FTCs) rules around casual workers, criminal records issues, suspending employees and giving disciplinary warnings.

“The seminar is based on our extensive experience of supporting schools," said Senior HR Consultant Bryan Chapman. "We have identified the most common HR pitfalls that we have supported employers to avoid or defend against.This seminar will be useful for any employer who wants to improve their awareness of these difficult areas of employment law. The seminar will be co-presented with consultant Tim Tyndall from Stone King, who has over 30 years’ experience of giving employment law advice.
